About
About XDownload
XDownload is a small, independent tool for saving videos, GIFs, photos, and MP3 audio from public X posts. This page explains how it works, what its limits are, and how to reach the operator.
Overview
What XDownload is
XDownload.cloud is a free web tool for saving public X content that you own or have permission to keep. It is run by an independent operator and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by X Corp.
There are no accounts, no subscriptions, and no apps or browser extensions to install.
How it works
From link to file
When you paste a link, the server checks that it points to a single public X post, asks X for the details a logged-out visitor could see, and shows a preview card with the formats it can deliver.
When you press a download button, the server fetches the media from X and streams it to your browser. MP3 is converted while the file downloads. Any temporary file lives in a private directory and is deleted as soon as the transfer ends.
Limits
What XDownload will not do
- Offer MP4 above 1080p or in codecs other than H.264.
- Accept videos longer than 60 minutes.
- Deliver files larger than 500 MiB.
- Download protected, sensitive login-required, or live videos, or ask for your X login.
- Keep copies of downloaded files or a history of your downloads.
Fair use
Your responsibility
Only download content you own, have permission to save, or that is licensed for reuse. X's Terms of Service restrict reusing content without permission. The Terms of Use explain acceptable use in full.
Privacy
Privacy in short
There are no accounts and no X login. Raw IPs and URLs are never logged. Request logs hold only hashed identifiers. The Privacy Policy explains what is processed and for how long.
